Help us bring solar power to Riimenze

Help us bring solar power to Riimenze

South Sudan has one of the smallest carbon footprints in the world, but the effects of climate change have been devastating on this struggling country. The Solidarity Agricultural Project in Riimenze models and teaches sustainable farming methods, helping local farmers produce more and better food, and providing food for elderly in the community.

For Giving Tuesday this year, we are focusing on the need for solar panels at the farm in Riimenze. Solar power would bring clean energy to the farm by replacing or reducing the use of diesel-powered pumps for water for drinking, cooking, and to irrigate crops, as well as helping to facilitate the processing of nutritious foods from raw harvests. Solar power would also provide a reliable way to charge mobile phones, which are often the only means of connection in a country lacking basic infrastructure.

Your support is needed to make this project a reality. The total estimated cost in USD for this project is $30,000. Donate now
