Board Member
Rev. John Sivalon, MM, a Maryknoll Missionary, brings extensive leadership and educational experience to the Board. Father John served in Tanzania for many years in various ministries, including Coordinator for the Tanzanian Commission for Justice and Peace and Consultant to the Open University of Tanzania (Religious Studies curriculum development).He was also on the faculty of the Department of Sociology at the University of Dar es Salaam.
He served as General Superior of the Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers (2002-2008), and NGO representative to the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations. Father John is currently the Director of International Studies and Senior Advisor at the University of Scranton. He is the author of God’s Mission and Postmodern Culture: The Gift of Uncertainty.
