Solidarity Pastoral Team Finds New Home in Kit
Where can we have a meeting? Will it have water? Can it host a large group? What will it cost and can we afford it? These are questions often facing facilitators as they seek a place to hold a meeting, a conference or a training session.
Now, with the help of the Italian Bishops Conference, German dioceses and others, the Religious Superiors Association of South Sudan (RSASS) has opened a conference center in Kit, a few miles south of Juba. The Center has been busy hosting groups from a variety of organizations, including the bishops conference. The Solidarity Pastoral Team finds a home here and conducts training programs here.
In the first six months after the inauguration of the Center, twenty groups have made use of the facilities to promote their goals and deliberate in a peaceful environment.
The spacious grounds and simple and affordable accommodations are a welcome relief from the dreary and costly venues that are the lot South Sudan.
