The Catholic Health Training Institute in Wau is one of few centers in South Sudan training registered nurses and midwives. Three year programs lead to certification and graduates have annually taken top honors on state exams. In 2016 it was estimated that of approximately 250 registered nurses in the country over half had graduated from CHTI. In spite of the current ethnic strife engulfing the country, CHTI remains open and functioning thanks to the support of friends like you. Friends in Solidarity provides operational support, the equivalent of scholarships for the CHTI where all students are subsidized to attend this residential facility.
